Baseball Falters To Bison
DUDLEY, MA: The Anna Maria College baseball team lost 9-6 at Nichols College on Wednesday in Dudley.
THE BASICS:

TURNING POINT:
- Anna Maria jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the second inning, capped off by a two-RBI single to left center from freshman first baseman Jeremy Rosenberg (Boynton Beach, FL). Later trailing 7-4, the AMCATS attempted to rally in the top of the eighth, with Rosenberg and junior left-fielder James Powers (Folsom, CA) drew back-to-back bases-loaded walks to pull to within one. But the Bison would add a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth to secure the win.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Anna Maria senior right-fielder Jason Shell (Sandwich, MA) posted two hits and a walk on the day, coming around to score two runs.
- Anna Maria junior left-handed pitcher Chris Brouwer (Northbridge, MA) allowed no earned runs in the eighth inning.
- Anna Maria junior second baseman Jake Gagnon (Bellingham, MA) entered the game as a replacement and went one-for-two, scoring a run.
