NEW LONDON, CT: The Anna Maria College baseball team lost on Wednesday at Mitchell College in New London.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Trailing 1-0 in the fourth inning, senior Shortstop Kosta Drosidis (Holden, MA) led off the inning with an infield single. Moved to second two batters later on Freshman first basemen Jeremy Rosenberg's first hit of the day. Drosidis would come around to score on a single by third basemen Nick Genatossio (Sutton, MA).
  • Trailing 4-1 in the next inning, Junior centerfielder Hunter Dunithan (Reno, NV) singled to left with one out. Following an AMCAT strikeout, he stole second and came around to score on a hit to third by Drosidis that the third basemen threw away.

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Rosenberg was the only AMCAT with multiple hits, going 2-4 with singles in the second and fourth innings.
  • Dunithan's stolen base in the fifth inning was his GNAC leading 15th of the season.
  • The AMCATS bullpen combined for four and third innings of no-hit relief.
  • Tyler Daly (Wallingford, CT) earned the win, allowing two runs over five innings, striking out seven without walking a batter. Daly improved to 2-0 on the year.

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria will be back in action on Saturday when they will return home to play Johnson & Wales at Marlborough High School. The first pitch is scheduled for noon.
