Baseball Starts Florida Trip Versus Husson

DAVENPORT, FL: The Anna Maria College baseball team opened their 2022 Florida spring break trip with a 14-9 loss to Husson University on Friday afternoon at Northeast Regional Park in Davenport.

THE BASICS:

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Down 13-6 going into the bottom of the eighth, the AMCATS rallied for three runs off back-to-back-to-back RBI singles from junior centerfielder Hunter Dunithan (Reno, NV), junior designated hitter James Powers (Folsom, CA) and senior shortstop Kosta Drosidis (Holden, MA). But Anna Maria could not finish closing the gap, taking their first loss of the season.
  • Anna Maria senior catcher Noah Holland (Sandwich, MA) led the AMCATS, going three-for-five with two RBI.
  • Drosidis, the 2021 GNAC Player of the Year, had two hits with two runs batted in, including a double.
  • Anna Maria freshman first baseman Jeremy Rosenberg (Boynton Beach, FL) continued his stellar start to his collegiate career, with two hits and two runs scored. The rookie is hitting .444 on the season.
  • Anna Maria junior right-handed pitcher Joe Dorman (Sandwich, MA) pitched a scoreless inning in relief, with one strikeout on the day.

Anna Maria will be back on the field on Saturday when they play New Jersey City University in a 1:45 p.m. game.
