Student Athlete Advisory Committee

Anna Maria College SAAC

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. The committee consists of representatives from each varsity athletic team, who represent the voice of the student-athletes on campus. SAAC provides an important link of communication between Anna Maira College student-athletes and athletic department administration and also provides a support system for student-athletes to discuss various issues specific to the rigors of student-athlete life.

Purpose
The purpose of the Anna Maria College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is to:

Represent Anna Maria's 13 varsity athletic teams and three club teams in matters relative to the Anna Maria College athletics department.

Organize activities that will serve the campus and that represent Anna Maria College athletics in a positive manner.

Division III SAAC Mission Statement

The mission of the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity for all student-athletes; protecting student-athlete welfare; and fostering a positive student-athlete image, while maintaining the tenants of the Division III philosophy.

Division III Philosophy

Colleges and universities in Division III place the highest priority on the overall quality of the educational experience and on the successful completion of all students' academic programs. They seek to establish and maintain an environment in which a student-athlete athletics activities are conducted as an integral part of the student-athlete educational experience. They also seek to establish and maintain an environment that values cultural diversity and gender equity among their student-athletes and athletics staff.
