BOSTON, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced the 2013 All-GNAC Women's Volleyball Teams and major awards following the completion of this weekend's championship in which Rivier University claimed the title following a 3-1 victory over Emmanuel College.

Paxton, Mass. – The Anna Maria College women’s volleyball team swept visiting Mount Ida College and Norwich University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action on Friday night at Fuller Activities Center. With the pair of wins the AMCATS finish the season with an 11-15 (3-8 GNAC) mark, setting a new school record for wins in a season. The previous record was nine, set in 2001.

Providence, R.I. – The Johnson & Wales University women’s volleyball team swept a Great Northeast Athletic Conference tri-match against Anna Maria and Simmons at the Wildcat Center on the road on Saturday afternoon. Prior to game there was a ceremony honoring seniors Ashley Rey (Miami, Fla.), Giselle Cram (Vega Alta, Puerto Rico), Courtney Wright (Windham, N.H.), Kasey Higgins (Wallingford, Conn.), Natasha Finkbeiner (Belgrade, Mont.) and Megan Bollerman (Mahwah, N.J.).

Paxton, Mass. – Junior Ciara Perez (Manchester, NH) finished with a match-best 17 kill as the University of Saint Joseph downed the Anna Maria College AMCATS, 3-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women’s volleyball action on Thursday evening at Fuller Activities Center.

Paxton, Mass. – Anna Maria College freshman Michelle Connolly (Quincy, Mass.) registered a game-high 16 digs in a 3-0 (25-7, 25-20, 27-25) loss to the University of Southern Maine in non-conference women’s volleyball action on DIG PINK NIGHT at Fuller Activities Center. With the win the Huskies move to 19-7 overall, while the loss drops the AMCATS to 9-12 on the season.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University senior Katrina Stroganoff (Cedar Grove, N.J.) knocked down a match-high 15 kills to go with her team-high 17 digs as the Lynx topped Anna Maria College 26-24, 16-25, 25-23, 25-18, in a non-conference tilt tonight at Buckingham, Browne, and Nichols. With the win, Lesley improves to 4-6 on the year while Anna Maria falls to 6-5 overall.
