Bio

Garvey has been the head coach of the Anna Maria women’s soccer team since December 2018, while also serving as the department's Assistant Athletic Director / Senior Women's Administrator.

In 2021, Garvey's AMCATS won their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) game since 2016. In their season finale at Norwich, Anna Maria prevailed 2-1 in overtime, with rookie Riley Michaud scoring the game-winner in the 94th minute as the AMCATS' bench erupted in celebration. 

In 2019, Garvey led the AMCATS to their best season in four years, jumping out to a 3-1 start. 

Prior to arriving at Anna Maria, Garvey was the head coach at Newbury College. While coaching the Nighthawks, Garvey led her team to the NECC tournament with two of her players receiving All-NECC honors. She brought in seven student-athletes in her first recruiting class, of which produced 85% of the scoring in the 2018 season. She also served as the work-study supervisor and fundraising coordinator for the Nighthawks.

In 2016, Garvey served as an assistant coach at Wheaton College, where she was later named Interim Head Coach. In addition to her recruiting efforts, she led Wheaton to the NEWMAC (New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference) semifinals after an upset win over number three seed Babson in the first-round. The Lyons finished with four second-team All-NEWMAC selections, two second-team All-New England selections, and one third-team All-New England selection.

Garvey’s coaching career began at Lesley University in 2015 where she was an assistant coach for the Lynx. She helped the Lynx finish with a 16-6 overall record and a 9-0 record in conference play. That season, Lesley secured a trip to the NCAA tournament after winning the NECC (New England Collegiate Conference) championship.

A Warwick, RI native, Garvey was a successful student-athlete for the Emmanuel College women’s soccer team. While playing for the Saints in the GNAC, Garvey accumulated 37 career goals with 16 assists, and earned All-GNAC Second Team selections in her sophomore and junior seasons. She was named to the All-GNAC Third Team in her senior year. Garvey was a co-captain her senior year. She currently ranks 4th All-Time in goals scored and total points.

Garvey graduated from Emmanuel College in May of 2014 and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Management, with a concentration in Sports Management. She went on to earn a Master’s of Science in Sports Leadership from Northeastern University in May 2017. Garvey currently resides in West Boylston, MA.
