Women's Soccer Falls Short to Simmons, 1-0

PAXTON, MASS: The Anna Maria Women's Soccer team fell short to Simmons College this afternoon on AMCAT Field in conference action with a final score of 1-0.

 THE BASICS:

Score: Simmons 1, Anna Maria 0.

Records: Simmons (2-10-1, 2-7 GNAC), Anna Maria (3-10-1, 0-7-1 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  Through the tightly contested contest, the Sharks were the only team to find the back of the net on a pass downfield by Emma Trahant to Cierra Martin. Martin was able to beat the AMCAT defender and keeper to put the ball just passed the left post.


INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- The AMCATS fell just one shot on goal short of the Sharks 17-18, with both teams having 11 shots on goal.   

-  Melanie Colman got her 2nd win after saving all 11 shots on net.

-  Alice Yokabaskas (Farmingdale, ME) played 66 minutes in net for Anna Maria, where she saved all 7 shots faced.
