2019 Women's Soccer Season Preview

PAXTON, Mass. - The Anna Maria College women's soccer team returns to action on Saturday, August 31, 2019, at 12:00 PM against Becker College as they look to create momentum throughout the season and strengthen the program. Saturday's match also marks the debut of new head coach, Lindsey Garvey.

When asked about the upcoming season, Coach Garvey is eager to get out there, "I am very excited for the AMC women's soccer program and their next chapter," said Coach Garvey. "The upperclassmen have exhibited strong leadership, experience and heart coming into the 2019 preseason. As we prepare for our first game, we continue to demonstrate the commitment to compete at a higher level and develop as a unit."

WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO

Anna Maria's senior class of Karlyn Brown (Belmont, N.H.), Brittney Carr (Spencer, Mass.), Gabriella Eldredge (West Boylston, Mass.), Shannon LeBlanc (Lancaster, Mass.), Samantha Seniti (Medford, Mass.) will be relied upon to help guide the squad this season.
In her first year, Coach Garvey brought in a class of 13 new student-athletes. Nine of those 13 student-athletes are freshmen and Coach Garvey praised the incoming freshmen saying "the girls add great talent, work rate and character to this team."
The AMCATS are only nine wins away from the 150-win plateau in program history.
The squad returns top shot leaders Keannah Dunsmore (Georgia, Vt.) and LeBlanc who paced the team with 29 and 25 shots respectively.
