Women’s Lacrosse Opens Season At Becker

- LEICESTER, MASS: The Anna Maria College women's lacrosse team opened their 2021 season with an 18-5 loss at Becker College on Thursday afternoon at Alumni Field in Leicester, Massachusetts.

 THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  Anna Maria junior Ashley Rufo (Pittsfield, MA) scored two goals on the day for the AMCATS, to go along with five ground balls, two draw controls and a caused turnover.

- Anna Maria freshman Raegan Hachey (Winthrop, ME) had a strong showing to start her collegiate career, with two goals, an assist and three ground balls.  

-  Anna Maria freshman Cara Cox (Pocasset, MA) added one goal and two ground balls.

- Anna Maria sophomore goalkeeper Ashley Sheehan (Medford, MA) tallied nine saves in net.

- Anna Maria returns to action on Saturday for their home opener against Dean College for a 3:00 p.m. game.
