Women's Lacrosse Falls to Monks

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Women's Lacrosse Team was defeated by conference opponent St. Joseph's College this evening by a score of 19-1 on AMCAT Field.

 

Records: SJC (3-3), Anna Maria (0-4)

 

The Monks had three players hit the three goal mark in tonight's contest. Brittney Arsenault, Kayla Kelly, and Kara Kelly were the players to get hat tricks. Maddy Beaulieu had the game high for assists with three.

 

The AMCATS finished with just four shots on goal with only one finding the back of the net. Alyssa Vacca (Wakefield, Mass.) was the lone scorer just under two minutes into the second half. Vacca leads the team in scoring with tonight's goal being her fourth on the season. Ashley Rufo (Pittsfield, Mass.) made her presence felt in her first collegiate lacrosse game with her getting the assist on the goal and picking up two groundballs and a caused turnover.

Kaylin Mansir will get the win for the Monks, she will improve to 2-1 on the season. Mansir saved 2 shots and allowed just 1 goal.

 

Emma Walsh (Dracut, Mass.) tallied 16 saves and allowed 19 goals, in today's loss. With the loss Walsh will drop to 0-3 on the season.

Anna Maria will be on the road this Saturday when they travel to Lasell for another conference game, with the first draw control set for 3:00PM.
