Women's Hockey Shutout by Wildcats

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Women's Hockey team fell this evening to Johnson & Wales 6-0 in non-conference play.

 

The Wildcats (5-12-3) outshot the AMCATS (1-12) 72 to 13 on their way to the victory. JWU was able to put up four goals in the first period, followed by a single goal in the second and third. Kathryn Mason, Caitlin Sweet, and Taylor Davis where the three that were able to finds the back of the net in the first, Sweet was able to finish on two occasions. Samantha Kawejsza and Kathy Ensor completed the scoring for the Wildcats. Kawejsza scored in the second period, while Ensor was able to finish in the third.

 

Anna Maria was able to put more shots on net in the second and third period. Riley Cote (Tewksbury, Mass.) led the way for the AMCATS as she put four shots on net. Julianne Nelson (Armstrong, BC) was just behind her with three shots on goal. Goalie Gabi Ohanesian (Bozemen, MT) was able to compile 66 saves throughout the contest with allowing just the 6 goals.
