Women's Basketball Claws Past Lasell
PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Women's Basketball Team was victorious this afternoon against conference opponent Lasell College 69-56 in Newton, Massachusetts.
The Lasers (5-11, 0-4 GNAC) Amanda Ortiz was able to keep them in the game as she scored a game high 25 points. Meg Carroll fell just short of a Double-Double with 10 points and 9 rebounds while coming off of the bench.
The AMCATS (6-14, 3-4 GNAC) were able to bounce back from a quiet second and third quarter to outscore Lasell 27-15 to secure the win. Amber Wilson (New York, NY) led the team with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Sierra Johnson (Brockton Mass.) contributed 13 points of her own along with 4 rebounds. Johanna Burke (Oxford, Mass.) tied the game high in rebounds with 9 to add to her 11 points. Shannon Hofmiller (Oxford, CT) ended the game with 11 points and 6 rebounds both coming as season highs for the senior.
