Women's Basketball Come Up Short to Hawks

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Women's Basketball team dropped a non-conference game this evening to the Hawks of Becker College 53-45 in the Fuller Center.

 

Becker (2-2) finished with two players in double digits, led by Cassidy Harrison who was 8-17 from the field and compiled 23 points, 4 steals, and 5 rebounds. Adrianna Dowdy completed the game with a double-double as she accumulated 12 boards, 10 points, and 6 assists.

 

Anna Maria (0-3) got off to a slow start, but was able to get and hold on to the lead for two quarters. Then the Hawks locked down on defense in the fourth and held AMC to just 4 points in the quarter. The AMCATS Sierra Johnson (Brockton, Mass.) had the team high with 14 points and 10 rebounds completing a double-double. Mariah Carey (Worcester, Mass.) tallied 9 points and two blocks throughout the contest. While, Johanna Burke (Oxford, Mass.) was able to finish with a game high 15 rebounds.

The Hawks will be back at home this coming Tuesday at 5:30 PM to play the Lynx of Lesley College.

 

The AMCATS will be heading out Friday to play in the St. Johns Fisher Tournament against SUNY Poly at 7:30 PM.
