Warburton Garners GNAC Major Postseason Award

Paxton, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Basketball postseason honors have been announced and AMCAT Trafficia Warburton (Worcester, Mass) has garnered GNAC Defensive Player of the Year accolades for her play during the 2013-14 campaign.

Warburton led the AMCATS in scoring (16.9 PPG), rebounding (9.4 RPG), blocked shots (16), steals (90) and field goals made (156) in her junior season. The forward was also name to the GNAC Second Team All-Conference. Warburton ranked 4th in the conference in scoring and finished the season 3rd in the conference in rebounding.

 

Warburton paced the AMCATS with ten double-doubles, while earning one selection this season to the GNAC Honor Roll, as well as being named the GNAC Player of the Week and ECAC Player of the Week.   

 

Sophomore Lindsay Bond (Webster, Mass.) was tabbed to the 2013-14 GNAC All-Conference Sportsmanship Team for the second consecutive season.

 

Anna Maria went 11-14 over and 4-7 in conference play under the watch of second-year Head Coach Kevin Bigelow during the 2013-14 season. The eleven wins were the most for the AMCATS since the 2001-2002 season.
