Junior Justine Lalonde (Shirley, NY) has been named to the 2014 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Sportsmanship Team for softball.
Lady AMCATS wrap up 2014 with pair of losses at Emmanuel

BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman pitcher Jill Kilcoyne (Worcester, Mass.) pitched a five-inning perfect game and freshman first baseman Susie Kieselback (Wethersfield, Conn.) belted two homers to lift the Emmanuel College softball team in a doubleheader sweep over Anna Maria College Saturday afternoon at Roberto Clemente Field. The Saints captured game one, 8-0, followed by an 8-1 game two victory to improve to 17-20 on the year and 9-13 in GNAC play. The losses drop the AMCATS to 3-31 and 1-21 to conclude their 2014 season. With the victories, EC secured at least the No. 8 spot in next week’s GNAC tournament for their first post-season appearance since 2004.

Worcester, Mass. – The Anna Maria College softball team dropped a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) doubleheader to Norwich University today at New Balance Field in Worcester, Mass. The Cadets picked up a 7-1 win in game one and shutout the AMCATS 14-0 in the nightcap.

BOSTON, Mass. – The Suffolk University Softball team swept a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) doubleheader over Anna Maria College on Wednesday afternoon at Popoulo Field in Boston’s North End. Suffolk took game one 9-1 before closing out the sweep with a 13-6 victory in the nightcap.

Worcester, Mass. - The Anna Maria College softball team suffered a pair of setbacks to visiting Simmons College at New Balance Field on Saturday afternoon. The Sharks posted a 10-0 victory in game one and swept the AMCATS 8-0 in the nightcap. Anna Maria dips to 1-17 on the season and 1-7 in conference play, while Simmons improves to 14-4 on the season and 7-1 in the GNAC.

The Lasers took game one 9-0 in five innings and the nightcap 10-4. Anna Maria falls to 1-15 overall and 1-5 in conference play, while Lasell improves to 12-8 on the season and 5-3 in the GNAC.
Softball Splits with Rivier, Notch First Win of Season

(Nashua, New Hampshire) The Anna Maria College Softball team earned a split of this morning’s Great Northeast Athletic Conference Double-Header with Rivier University. The games, which were originally scheduled for 3:30pm, were moved up to a 9am start in order to beat the impending rain storm. Rivier captured victory in game one with a 7-2 final but Anna Maria bounced back to score the 6-3 victory in the back end of the double-header.

Cranston, RI – The Anna Maria College softball team was swept in double-header action by Johnson & Wales University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference Action (GNAC) on Friday afternoon at Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex. JWU won game one 12-3 and posted an 11-0 shut-out in the nightcap.

Clermont, Fla – The Anna Maria College softball team fell to WPI and Sage College on the final day of Spring Break participation in the Dot Richardson Invitational in Clermont, Florida. WPI posted a 7-2 win over the Anna Maria in the first game of the day, then the AMCATS were downed by Sage College 10-1 in the night cap.
