Men’s Lacrosse Falls Short to Mitchell

- NEW LONDON, CT: The Anna Maria Men's Lacrosse team fell in their first contest of the season this afternoon to Mitchell College by a 13-12 score in non-conference action.   

 THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Jade Shields (Hempstead, N.Y) led all scorers with five goals and an assist, while Joe Schley (Rocky Point, N.Y.) added four scores. Dominick Reposa (Rehoboth, MA) and Ethan LePain (Coventry, R.I.) each chipped in a pair of tallies. 

-  Defensively, the Mariners goalie Marcel Quinlan (Uniondale, N.Y) finished with 21 saves against 33 shots. Desmond Knowles (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Reposa each scooped up seven ground balls, while the former also caused a pair of turnovers. 

 -  Cameron Perry (Coventry, R.I.) paced Anna Maria with five goals, and Eric Glover (Baldwinville, MA) contributed a hat trick. Nick Massaro (West Haven, CT) added two goals and three assists, while Tommy Girard (Newbury, MA) finished with a goal and two helpers. 

- AMCATS goalie Gage Garcia (Newington, CT) made 10 saves against 23 shots. Tyler Shaw (Fulton, N.Y) grabbed seven ground balls and caused a game-high four turnovers.
