Anna Maria Men’s Lacrosse Earns Institutional Sportsmanship Award, Schwarz Named GNAC Third Team All-Conference

WINTHROP, Mass. – The Anna Maria College men’s lacrosse team was granted the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Institutional Sportsmanship award for the 2017 season. Sophomore goaltender, Paul Schwarz (Staten Island, N.Y.) was named to the GNAC All-Conference Third Team for his outstanding play this season while junior Daniel Rinkus (Harwinton, Conn.) was named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship team.
AMCATS Drop to Lasers in Season Finale

NEWTON, Mass. --The Lasell College men's lacrosse team capped off the 2017 regular season with a 16-9 victory over the Anna Maria College AMCATS Saturday afternoon at Grellier Field. Lasell improves to 11-3, and a perfect 8-0 in conference play for the first time since the 2012 season. The AMCATS drop to 3-13, and 1-7 in conference games.

Paxton, Mass. – The Anna Maria College men’s lacrosse team soared to a 17-5 victory over Albertus Magnus College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Tuesday evening at AMCAT field. The win is the first conference victory for the AMCATS this season bringing them to a 3-10 overall record and a 1-4 record in the GNAC. The Falcons fall to 3-9 on the season and 0-5 in the conference.

Schwarz Breaks Anna Maria Career Saves Record at JWU

Providence, R.I.— Sophomore goaltender Paul Schwarz (Staten Island, N.Y.) broke the Anna Maria College men’s lacrosse career saves record with 16 saves in this evening’s game at Johnson & Wales University. Schwarz surpassed the previous record of 455 career saves that was set in 2012 and now sits with a career total of 461 saves.

Freshman Buccaneer Benjamin Avakian netted a career-high six goals, including the game-winner with 5:08 remaining. The AMCATS fall to 2-4 on the season while the Buccaneers improve to 4-0.
