Men’s Ice Hockey Enters Break With Loss To Huskies

AUBURN, MA: The Anna Maria College men's ice hockey team lost 2-1 to visiting the University of Southern Maine on Saturday evening at the Horgan Arena in Auburn, Massachusetts.

THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • USM senior defenseman Jonathan Bartuccio-Pereira (St. Bruno, QC) scored the first goal of the game 4:31 into the second, assisted by junior forward Tanner McClure (Buxton, ME) and junior forward Curtis Judd (Saco, ME).
  • USM sophomore forward Austin Marini (Hyde Park, MA) scored the eventual game winner on a power play with 9:03 left in the second, sophomore defenseman Cole Ouellette (Lewiston, ME) and senior forward Bobby Kinsey III (Leechburg, PA) to put the Huskies ahead 2-0.
  • Anna Maria freshman right wing Colby Wolter (Falun, AB) continued his blistering rookie campaign as he scored on a powerplay with 5:49 to go in the second, assisted by senior left wing and team captain captain Patrick Manning (Messena, NY) and senior right wing Gavin Proeh (Highland Park, IL). It was Wolter's fourth goal of the season.
  • Anna Maria senior goaltender Julius Huset (Oakdale, MN) stopped 33 of 35 shots for the AMCATS.

 

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria heads into their winter break, but they will be back on the ice on Saturday, January 8th when they play Wilkes University in the Boston Landing Invitational hosted by Nichols College in a 6:40 p.m. game.
