Men’s Ice Hockey Falls Short At UMass Boston

BOSTON, MA: The Anna Maria College men's ice hockey team lost 3-1 at UMass Boston on Saturday afternoon at Edward T. Barry Ice Rink in Boston, Massachusetts.

HOW IT HAPPENED:                                                                                                                          

  • The AMCATS scored their sole goal of the game 1:01 into the second period when senior left wing and team captain Patrick Manning (Messena, NY) scored on an unassisted shot. It was his second goal in as many games as well as his second of the season.
  • The Beacons received goals from sophomore forward Corey Clifton (Matawan, NJ), senior forward Chris Peters (Fairport, NY) and senior forward Ethan Nitkin (Miami Beach, FL) in the win, with Peters' shot 6:07 into the second period representing the eventual game-winner.

Anna Maria will be back on the ice on Tuesday evening when they get a second shot at the Beacons in Boston in a 6:30 p.m. game.
