Men's Hockey Skates Past Stonehill, 4-1

- FOXBORO, MASS: The Anna Maria Men's Ice Hockey team defeated division II's Stonehill this evening, 4-1 in their last road game of the season.

 THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/8/2020

- Score: Anna Maria 4, Stonehill 1

- Records: Stonehill (7-10-4), Anna Maria (12-7-5)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Skyhawks netted the only score in the first period on a Brendan Nehmer goal. That, however, would be the only goal Stonehill would get, with AMCAT tender Julius Huset (Oakdale, MN) shutting them out the rest of the contest.  

-  Anna Maria split their four goals up with two in the second period. The first came 8:56 in when Michael Padgeon (Sellersville, PA) beat the Stonehill tender to tie it up and 1-1. The go ahead goal for the AMCATS was from Gavin Proeh (Highland Park, IL) to end the second period.

Jack Sitzman (Redondo Beach, CA) extended the 'CATS lead to 3-1 on his third period goal. Sitzman's goal was followed up by another Proeh score for his second of the game to give the AMCATS the 4-1 victory.  


INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Chase McKay (L, 1-3-0) saw just 22 shots from the AMCATS and was able to save 18.

-  Huset (W, 10-6-4) had another 30 save game after facing 31 shots on net.

-  Anna Maria had just 12 minutes in the box this evening on just 6 infractions. The Skyhawks had 14 minutes on jus 3 infractions.

- Anna Maria returns to action on Tuesday to end their season against Post University at 5:40 PM.
