Men's Hockey Falls in Another Low Scoring Affair with SUNY Canton

CANTON, NY: The Anna Maria Men's Ice Hockey team was shutout this evening 2-0 in game two of a short two game series with SUNY Canton.  

 THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/1/2020

Score: Canton 2, Anna Maria 0   

Records: Canton (10-6-3), Anna Maria (10-7-5)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  There were only two goals in the game both belonging to the home squad. In the first period, the Kangaroos capitalized on a power play opportunity to go up 1-0.

-  The second period both teams were held scoreless. Canton took the most amount of shots in this period with 15. AMCAT tender Julius Huset (Oakdale, MN) was able to save all of them to keep the deficit to just one.

-  The third period saw Anna Maria outshoot the Kangaroos but wasn't able to get it past Canton Tender Michael Cerasuolo. SUNY also found the net for the second time 17:25 into the period on a Brett Banister score.


INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Cerasuolo was perfect on the night as he faced 21 shots and saved all of them.

-  Huset saw 29 shots and saved 27.

-  the AMCATS had 22 minutes in the box on 7 infractions, while Canton has 24 minutes on 8 infractions.

- Anna Maria was 0-for-4 on the power play, while the Kangaroos were 1-for-4.
