Men's Hockey Falls to Bryn Athyn, 4-2

PAXTON, MASS: The Anna Maria Men's Hockey team fell to Bryn Athyn this evening at Horgan Arena by a score of 4-2.

 THE BASICS:

- Date: 1-26-2020

Score: Bryn Athyn 4, Anna Maria 2

Records: Bryn Athyn (9-8-3), Anna Maria (10-6-4)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Lions took the lead early on in the first period on a Tanner Congdon goal to put them up 1-0 going into the second period.

-  The AMCATS were able to tie it up just 2:47 into the second period on a power play goal by Patrick Manning (Messena, NY). However, the visiting squad would tally their own second period goal just under 30 seconds later when Nick Malvasi beat the Anna Maria tender.

-  With the Lions leading 2-1 the AMCATS needed an answer and Nick Kukuris (Littleton, CO) did just that. He tied the game up at 2-2 with a 360 degree spin shot from the top left side of the net.

- Anna Maria was unsuccessful in holding the tie and went down 3-2 after Nikita Smirnov scored an almost 0 degree shot from the left side, sneaking it behind AMCAT Tender Julius Huset (Oakdale, MN).

- The Lions added one more in the last minute of the game on an empty net try by Devon Becker to get the final of 4-2.
