Men's Hockey Penalties Lead to Loss versus Wilkes

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Men's Hockey Team was unable to defeat Wilkes University this

evening in non-conference action, with a final of 5-2 from Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania.

Anna Maria (4-12-4) jumped to a 1-0 lead 5 minutes into the first period on a Jack Sitzman (Redondo Beach, CA) goal off of a pass from Sam Cyr-Ledoux (Montreal, QC) and David Tmej (Bradenton, FL). The second period started the same way as the first with the AMCATS jumping on top just 45 seconds into the period with a Patrick Manning (Messena, NY) power play goal. Cyr-Ledoux and Nick Kukuris (Littleton, CO) were credited with the assists on the score.

Wilkes would go on to score two in the remainder of the second period to take a 3-2 lead with power play goals from Tyson Araujo and Wade Novak.

The Colonels would add two more in the third to complete the scores in the game, to give them the 5-2 victory. The Final two goals were finished by Donald Flynn and a second for Wade Novak. Wilkes was able to score 4 out of their 5 goals on power play attempts, going 4 of 7 (57%) on the night.
