Men's Hockey Secures First Program Win

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Men's Hockey team took down St Michaels College this evening in non-conference action 4-1, in Colchester Vermont.

The AMCATS (1-3-1) were able to strike first in the contest with just 7 seconds left in the first period, when Jack Sitzman (Redondo Beach, CA) was able to beat the Purple Knights tender glove side. Sitzman was assisted on the goal by Nick Kukuris (Littleton, CO) who dished the puck out from behind the net.

St. Mikes would come right back and put up their own goal, 27 seconds into the second period to tie the game up at 1 all. Matt Egan was able to convert stick side on a pass from Sam D'Antuono.

It was all the Anna Maria from then on as then put up three more goals in the third period. Kukuris was able to net one of his own just under 2 minutes into the period as Sitzman returns the favor along with Jackson Dobek (Natick, Mass.). The next goal came 15 minutes into the period when Kevin Kaufman (Medway, Mass.) received a pass by Drew Goupille (Bedford, MI) from the other end of the ice to then finish top shelf. The final goal of the game came from Quinn Tucker (Hancock, NH) from Gavin Proeh (Highland Park, IL) with just over two minutes remaining.
