Men's Hockey Drops Stunner in First Game in Program History

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Men's Hockey team fell to Post University this evening in first game in program history 4-3 at the Horagan Arena.

 

Post University (1-0) was led by Anthony Giacomin who was two for two in the game to lead all scorers. Niko Grollman and Evan Lugo also were able to score in this contest. The Eagles goaltenders faced thirty-three shots in the contest. Joseph Sheldon tallied thirteen save, while Brandon Brown was able to shutout the AMCATS in the third period to get the win.

 

Anna Maria (0-1) was able to take thirty-three shots and faced thirty throughout the contest. The AMCATS had three people score in the game, starting with Gavin Proeh (Highland Park, IL) who was assisted by Jack Sitzman (Redondo Beach, CA) on the power play. That was followed up by a goal from Kevin Kaufman (Medway, Mass.) who was assisted by David Tmej (Bradenton, FL) and Quinn Tucker (Hancock, NH). The last goal by Anna Maria came shorthanded by Connor McIntosh (Spokane, WA) at the end of the second period giving Sitzman his second assist of the night. Brendan Boncore (Oakland, MI) saw thirty shots and was able to make twenty-six saves in the contest

 

The AMCATS will be back on the ice this Tuesday as they travel to Franklin Peirce to play at 7:00 PM.
