Rapoza's 25 Points In Second Half Leads AMCATS to OT Victory

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Men's basketball team defeated Clark University this afternoon in overtime 106-102 during non-conference action in the Fuller Center.

 

Clark (1-4) went into the half up 53-42 while shooting 50% from the floor. Tyler Davern led the team in points with 13 and 5 rebounds going into the locker room.

 

Bobby Perette (Marshfield, Mass.) led the AMCATS (2-3) with 13 points of his own before the second half.

 

The Second half was dominated by Mike Rapoza (Charlton, Mass.) down low as he finishes the half with 24 points 6 rebounds and 3 streets. Freshmen Kennedy Minix-Rogers (Smyrna, GA) had his best game of his young career as he was 4-5 from the floor and hit 1-2 three pointers, to finish with 11 points in the half. Anna Maria was able to shoot 60% from the floor and outscored Clark 50 to 39 in the 2nd to tie the game up at 92 all.

 

In overtime Angel Perez (Miami, FL) went 2-2 from downtown to give the AMCATS their first lead since the opening seconds of the contest.

 

The cougars had two 20-point scorers today in Davern with 25points, along with Charles Stevens with 20 off of the bench.

 

The AMCATS finished with six players in double digits, led by Rapoza who finished with 30 points. Perette, Perez, and Minix-Rogers all finished with 15 points in the game.
