Men's Basketball Drops Shootout with Roger Williams
PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Men's Basketball team fell to Roger Williams this evening in non-conference action 99-91, in Bristol Rhode Island.
The Hawks (2-1) fell just short of the century mark in a game where both teams seemed to be able to hit a shot from outside of the gym. Four players for Roger Williams dropped double digits in the contest, leading the way was Austin Coene who finished with 26 point, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds. Just 3 points short of him was Rich Pugliese who had a stat line of 23 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist. Brian Donovan fell just short of the 20-point mark as he ended with 18 points and 5 assists.
The AMCATS (1-2) were held together by their big man down low Mike Rapoza (Charlton, Mass.) who shot 83% from the floor and ended with his third double-double in as many games this season. Rapoza finished with 40 (game high) points, 11 boards (game high), and 3 assists. Bobby Perette (Marshfield, Mass.) continues to shoot at a high percentage from beyond the arc as he is sitting at 53% through the first three games. Perette finished the game with 24 points, 2 steals, and 4 rebounds in just 28 minutes. Sidney Limage (Randolph, Mass.) also finished in double digits with 14 points, along with 7 boards.
