Field Hockey Comes Up Short At Johnson & Wales

PROVIDENCE, RI : The Anna Maria College field hockey team lost 1-0 at Johnson & Wales University on Tuesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action in Providence, Rhode Island.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Anna Maria junior goalkeeper Hannah Tobey (Falmouth, MA) finished with five saves.
  • Johnson & Wales broke the deadlock with just under four minutes remaining in the third quarter.  After the Wildcats regained possession in the midfield, Jillian Miele (Wilmington, Mass.) drove towards the net and passed to Darian Shepherd (Toms River, N.J.), who's first time shot hit the back of the net.  Johnson & Wales continued to pressure the Anna Maria net, but the game ended with the Wildcats taking a 1-0 victory.

 

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria will be back on the field on Friday when they host Colby-Sawyer College for a 6:00 p.m. contest. It will be the home season finale for the AMCATS.
