Field Hockey Falls To Fitchburg State

- PAXTON, MASS. : The Anna Maria College field hockey team lost 3-0 to visiting Fitchburg State University on Saturday afternoon at Caparso Field in Paxton.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Anna Maria junior goalkeeper Hannah Tobey (Falmouth, MA) recorded one save on the day for the AMCATS, going the distance in net. Graduate student midfielder Abigayle Celata (Baldwinville, MA) finished with a team-high three shots, including two on-goal.
  • After a scoreless first half, Fitchburg turned to senior forward Emily Iacovelli (Northbridge, MA), who assisted on the Falcons' first goal then scored two more herself to lead the visitors to the win.
  • Fitchburg State junior forward Grace Kerr (Holliston, MA) scored the eventual game-winner with a shot in the 45th minute.
  • Fitchburg State sophomore goalkeeper Jenna Morse (Leominster, MA) picked up the shutout win, recording four stops for the Falcons.
