Field Hockey Taken Down by Sharks

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Field Hockey team fell to the Sharks of Simmons University this morning in conference action 4-1 on AMCAT Field.

 

Simmons College (6-10, 4-2 GNAC) Anna Maria College (6-8, 2-4 GNAC)

 

First Half:

 

The AMCATS would strike first in the 29th minute as junior Lauren Lapierre (Worcester, Mass.) would find the back of the net from point blank.

 

The Sharks wouldn't end the first half empty handed as they were able to convert on a penalty corner at the end of the half. Maggie Fuzak was able to squeeze it through off of a pass from Meghan Fontaine.  

 

Second Half:

 

It was all Simmons in the second half as they were able to put in three more goals. The First came in the 40th minute as Adrianna Fournier was able convert while falling into the net. The Sharks struck again in the 43rd and the 52nd minutes as Hannah Scott and Olivia Trull were also able to send it home.

Simmons: Lucy McNamara:  Goals Allowed 1, 2 Saves, (6-9)

 

Anna Maria: Cassie Micklesavage (Pottstown, Penn): 4 Goals Allowed, 5 Saves, (2-2)

 

Next Up:

 

Simmons will travel to Colby-Sawyer on October 24th for their last game of the season at 3:30PM.

 

Anna Maria heads to Johnson and Wales on October 23rd with action beginning at 7:00PM.
