- The Lead: The Anna Maria College field hockey team played New England College Tuesday afternoon. Senior Kayla Donahue (Natick, Mass.) scored a hat trick to lead New England College to their third straight win.

How It Happened:

The Pilgrims wasted little time getting on the board as Audrey Carr (Weare, N.H.) put a shot off a defender's stick and into the net just over five minutes into the contest.

The hosts made it 2-0 nine minutes later as Brittany Tierney (Ottawa, Ontario) sent a pass across the width of the goal to Donahue, who buried it for her first score of the day.

The duo teamed up for NEC's third goal in the 23rd minute—this time, Tierney sent a pass through traffic from the right side to a waiting Donahue.

Anna Maria netted their lone goal just over seven minutes later as Nicole Denver (Springfield, Mass.) on a deflected pass.

Donahue scored the lone goal of the second half in the 59th minute off a penalty corner situation. Ball stopper Ali Ouellette (Saco, Maine) sent the ball into the middle of the circle to Tierney, who redirected it to Donahue posted up on the far right post.

The Pilgrims held a 14-6 advantage in shots and an 11-4 edge in shots-on goal. Both teams took four penalty corners.

GOALKEEPERS

NEC goalkeeper Michaela Clark (Dorchester, Mass.) made three saves in the win, including a diving save midway through the second half.

Anna Maria's Bryanna Tobin picked up seven saves in net.
