Nine Field Hockey Players Named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad

Paxton, Mass. – The Anna Maria College field hockey team were just as successful off the field as they were on the turf this season, as nine players were named to National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad. In addition to the individuals, the AMCATS earned the NFHCA National Academic Team Award for posting a team GPA of over 3.0.

MEDFORD - Sophomore Dakota Sikes-Keilp (Montclair, NJ) and senior Emily Cannon (Atkinson, NH) each scored two goals and added an assist as the Tufts University Field hockey team posted a 5-0 win over Anna Maria in the first round of the NCAA Championship Wednesday afternoon at Bello Field.

Paxton, Mass. – Anna Maria College junior Nichole Lowe (Saugus, Mass.) was named New England Collegiate Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week as announced by the conference office. Teammate Kayla Garczynski (Norwood, Mass.) was honored as NECC Rookie of the Week as well. It was the third time this season that the AMCATS have swept the weekly awards.

Anna Maria's Kylie Dalbec was chosen by the league’s coaches as the 2013 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Field Hockey Player of the Year. The sophomore forward leads the conference with eight goals, seven assists and 23 points in conference play. Dalbec, last season's NECC Rookie of the Year, has five game winners for the AMCATS who went undefeated against NECC competition.

Paxton, Mass. – Freshman Destinee Lucier (Worcester, Mass.) dished out a career-high three assists as the Anna Maria College field hockey team downed visiting Daniel Webster College 6-0 on Senior Day at AMCAT Field. With the win the AMCATS (13-6) post a perfect 6-0 record in conference play and capture the New England Collegiate Conference regular season title.

Paxton, Mass. – Anna Maria College sophomore Kylie Dalbec (Portland, Mass.) dished out a pair of assists and became the Lady AMCATS All-Time leading scorer with 78 points (29 goals, 20 assists) in a 3-2 loss to visiting Worcester State University in non-conference field hockey action on Thursday afternoon at AMCAT Field. The game was the completion of a suspended game from September 12th.

With the win the AMCATS improve to 12-5 (5-0 NECC) while the Wildcats dip to 2-11 (2-3 NECC).
