Eight AMCATS Garner NFHCA Academic Recognition

Paxton, MA - Eight members of the AMCAT field hockey team were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad. In addition, for the second consecutive season Anna Maria received national distinction by having a team cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Paxton, Mass. – The 2012 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) championship field hockey team was honored on Tuesday night in a halftime ceremony at the men’s basketball game. The team was joined by President Jack P. Calareso, Ph. D at midcourt to be recognized for their season accomplishments.

McClune, Dalbec, Zenevitch Earn Major NECC Awards

Anna Maria's Marybeth McClune (Worcester, Mass.) was chosen by the league’s coaches as the 2012 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Field Hockey Player of the Year. The senior forward scored eight goals in conference play including three game winners for the AMCATS who went undefeated against NECC competition and captured the 2012 title.

Paxton, MA – Senior Marybeth McClune (Worcester, MA) scored her 18th and 19th goals of the season to lead the Anna Maria field hockey team to a 4 – 2 New England Collegiate Conference Championship victory over Elms College. With the win, the AMCATS finish the season at 14-7, remaining unbeaten in conference play. The Elms College Blazers complete their season with an overall record of 8-12.
Dalbec’s Pair Leads AMCATS to NECC Final

Paxton, MA – Freshman Kylie Dalbec (Portland, ME) potted two first half goals and senior Brooke Denver (New Britain, Conn) added a second half score to lead the Anna Maria College field hockey team to a 3-1 New England Collegiate Conference Semifinal victory tonight at AMCAT field. With the win the AMCATS improve to 13-7 while the Wildcats end their season at 3-11.
Anna Maria Top Seed in NECC Field Hockey Championship

Anna Maria finished the NECC regular season a perfect 6-0 and will be the top seed entering the NECC Field Hockey tournament. Due to weather concerns, the tournament schedule has been adjusted.

Lowe notched the NECC Player of the Week title while Dalbec was named NECC Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.

BOSTON, MA – Senior forward Marybeth McClune (Worcester, MA/Burncoat HS) tallied a pair of goals to lead the Anna Maria College field hockey team to a 4-1 victory over host Wheelock College this evening in a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) match at Winsor Field in Boston, MA. The AMCATS win their sixth straight match to improve to 11-7 overall, including a perfect 5-0 in league play, while the Wildcats fall to 2-9 and 2-3.
