- PAXTON, MASS: The Anna Maria Baseball team took down Salem State this afternoon 17-8 in their first contest of the 2020 season.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The AMCATS fell to a quick 1-0 deficit after the first inning before exploding with a five-run second inning. The 'CATS followed the second inning up with another four runs in the third and fourth to go up 13-2. The last big inning Anna Maria had was in the eighth when they tacked on three more runs.
- The Vikings scored in seven of the nine innings but were only able to push across one run in all but one inning. Their largest run count came in the seventh when they scored two runs.

- Zach Piroh went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI's and a double.
TOP PERFORMERS: Anna Maria
- Kosta Drosidis (Holden, MA) was 5-for-6 with 5 RBI's, 4 runs scored, and 2 doubles.
- Noah Holland (Sandwich, MA) finished 3-for-4 with 4 RBI's, 4 runs scored, and a double.
- Adam Twitchell (Shrewsbury, MA) completed the game going 4-for-6 with 3 RBI's and a double.

PITCHING:
- Joshua Bell took the loss for Salem after going 1.1 innings with 4 hits allowed and 5 runs scored.
