2020 Women's Lacrosse Season Preview
PAXTON, MA- The women's lacrosse team kicks off their 2020 season on Saturday, February 29 at 12 PM traveling to Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Anna Maria brings back a strong amount of their student-athletes from last season (12) and looks to earn a spot in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) playoffs.
WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO
- Top goal scorers, Bryce McDonald (Dracut, MA) and Ashley Rufo (Pittsfield, MA) return to the squad with their team-leading, six and four goals respectively.
- Goalie, Emma Walsh (Dracut, MA) returns between the net with her 178 saves.
- This year marks the head coaching debut of Quincy Wilkins.
- In her first season, Coach Wilkins has brought in a recruiting class of 10 student-athletes who will contribute right away.
- Seniors, Hayley Morin (Harrisville, RI) and (Angela Sinatra (Northbridge, MA) will be looked upon to help guide the team this year.
FIVE GAMES TO WATCH
- Anna Maria's first home game is Saturday, March 7 at 11 AM versus Mitchell College.
- The AMCATS open GNAC play when they travel to Simmons University on Tuesday, March 17 at 7 PM.
- GNAC champion, Johnson & Wales University visits the 'CATS on Saturday, April 4 at 12 PM.
- The squads' last home game will be held on Saturday, April 18 at 3 PM against Colby-Sawyer.
- Anna Maria finishes the year traveling to Rivier University on Tuesday, April 21 at 7 PM.
