Human Development / Human Services
"After graduating from the Dearborn School, John spent two years playing at Quinsigamond Community College, where he was first team all-league in his sophomore season. John’s story is one of resilience, perserverance, and courage as he has stared down the adversity of disability to compete at the collegiate level, something that would never have seemed possible 10 years ago. No one, and I mean no one, has spent more hours working on and playing the game that he loves, basketball. His daily efforts before, during, and after practice have set a high barometer for those to follow as it pertains to commitment and investment in sport. Thank you for everything John, you have left your mark and you will be greatly missed."- Head Coach Shawn Conrad
JOSHEPH HOLMES
Shirley, MA / Ayer HS
Fire Science
" Joey transferred in from Mt Wachusett CC to complete his studies in Fire Science. A commuter, Joey has made the 45 minute trek to school and practice each and every day in all kinds of wintry weather conditions, never missing a day. He is often the first to arrive and last to leave, spending countless hours working alone and with his teammates on improving his skills before and after practice. An invaluable teammate, Joey’s quiet personality and presence have been a fixture here for thre years. We will miss your daily presence in the gym Joe.." - Head Coach Shawn Conrad
BOBBY PERETTE
Marshfield, MA / Marshfield HS
Sports Management
" Another great story, Bobby came here five years ago and in the fist drill of the first practice of his career, he went down with a torn ACL and missed the entire season. After a year of arduous rehab, Bob has become a mainstay in the AMCATS lineup over the last four seasons. He recently became the 25th men’s basketball player to score 1,000 pts in his career, fulfilling a lifelong dream and promise that he made when he came up for his recruiting visit. More significantly, Bob came in as a shooter and leaves as a player, working relentlessly to become more than just a shooter. His ability to put it on the floor and his commitment to becoming a better defender and rebounder have made Bob the all-around player we constantly challenged him to become." - Head Coach Shawn Conrad

Special Education
"Mike Rapoza will go down as one of the greatest players of all time in Anna Maria College basketball history. In his four year career, Mike has ascended to the top of many season and all time statistical leaderboards, both at Anna Maria and nationally in the NCAA. He is also currently the active leader across all divisions of the NCAA in rebounds and double/doubles in 2019-2020. He has 21 double/doubles this season alone and is averaging 15.4 rebounds a game. He also leads all of college basketball in minutes played with an average of 38.4. In his Sophomore season, he set an all-time NCAA Division 3 record for consecutive field goals made with 26 makes over a thre-game span. Suffice to say, Mike is pretty important to us, and pretty good at basketball too! Even better, rarely does a game go by without an opposing coach or referee come over and mention what a nice kid he is. It’s like he was born with a smile on his face. Mike graduated in three years last May with a degree in Education is currently enrolled in the Master’s program in Education. Mike, thank you for all you’ve done and meant to all of us here at Anna Maria, and best of luck as you enter the teaching and coaching professions and inspire the next generation to greatness." - Head Coach Shawn Conrad
