Volleyball Drops Three Sets to Bluejays

- PAXTON, MASS: The Anna Maria Volleyball team dropped three straight sets to GNAC opponent Saint Joseph's (Conn.) this evening in the Fuller Center.

 THE BASICS:

- Date: 10/9/2019

- Score: USJ 3, Anna Maria 0. Set Scores, 11-25, 8-25, 16-25.

- Records: USJ (7-8, 1-5 GNAC), Anna Maria (2-14, 0-6 GNAC)

LEADERS FOR ST. JOE'S:

-  Shannon Carey (Baypor, NY) and Hannah Benson (Terryville, CT) both finished with double digit kills. Carey tallied a game high 14, while Benson fell just behind her with 11. Benson also finished with a game high 4 service aces.

-  Nyah Young (Swansea, MA) had the game high in assists after racking up a total of 20 good sets throughout the match.

-  Natalia Rabassa (Juana Diaz, PR) was all over the court defensively as she accumulated 19 total digs through the three sets.


LEADERS FOR THE AMCATS:

Taylor Hoffstedt (Lanesborough, MA) topped the team in kills with 5, along with leading the team defensively with 12 digs.

Bella Kozciak (Westfield, MA) took up a different role in this game for the AMCATS, as she moved from an outside hitter to the main setter. Kozciak finished with a team high 13 assists, this also marks a career best.

- Anna Maria returns to action on the 12th for their senior day against conference opponent Suffolk University, the game is scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM.
