Volleyball Swept by Rivier

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Volleyball team fell tonight to conference opponent Rivier University   3-0 with set scores of 25-11, 25-16, and 25-12 in Nashua N.H.

 

The Raiders (14-5, 6-0 GNAC) offensive attack was shared between twelve participants, combining for their thirty-two kills. Julia Zargaj, Jillian Rabasco, Jess Whyte, and Allison Zagami all tied for the team high in finishes with four kills apiece. For the Raiders Hayley Macken tallied thirteen assists for a team high and was followed by Avery Pollard who accumulated eight of her own. Rivier also put together nineteen service aces in the contest.

 

Anna Maria's (3-13, 0-3 GNAC) offense was led by senior Sarah Lathrop (Waterford, Conn.) who had three kills and one assist. Lathrop was again followed closely by Hannah Mitchel (Pittsfield, Mass.) who had two kills on the night. Julia Ramos (Orange, Mass) had the team high in assists with just four.

 

Rivier will be back on the court Thursday the 4that 7:00 PM, as they take on Eastern Nazarene.

 

The AMCATS will be back at home this Saturday the 6th for a tri-match where they will play two conference opponents in Lasell at 10:00 AM and Saint Joseph's College at 2:00 PM in the Fuller Center.
