Volleyball Defeated by Anchormen 3-0

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Women's volleyball team fell to visiting Rhode Island College this evening in non-conference action 3-0, with set scores of 25-14, 25-13, and 25-19 in the Fuller Center.

 

RIC (6-4) was led on the attack by Amelia Murphy and Jillian Ward who both put together an eight kill night. Murphy and Ward were followed by Emilia Vaziri who tallied five of her own kills throughout the match. The Anchormen's Jacqueline Jutras completed the night with seventeen total assist and only one error. Kaylin Labreche followed suit as she also put up double digit numbers with twelve assists.

 

Anna Maria (1-7) tallied thirteen total kills in the match, five of which were off the hand of Abygail Chapdelaine (East Longmeadow, Mass.). She was accompanied by Hannah Mitchell (Pittsfield, Mass.) who put together a three kill night. The AMCATS Julia Ramos (Orange, Mass.) found herself again at the top of the leader board for the team in assists with nine.

 

The Anchormen will be back in action Saturday the 22nd as they return home to face Plymouth State at

12:00 PM.

 

The AMCATS will be back on the road this Thursday the 20th, as they head to Mount Holyoke, with the game slated to begin at 7:00 PM.
