King, Clancy Earn GNAC Weekly Accolades

WINTHROP, Mass.—The Anna Maria College volleyball team concluded their historic week with more milestones, as sophomore Amari King (Lawrence, Mass.) and freshman Tierney Clancy(Meriden, Conn.) both earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades.

King was named the GNAC Player of the Week, while Clancy earned GNAC Rookie of the Week honors.

AMARI KING – PLAYER OF THE WEEK

King averaged 5.23 kills per set and hit .376 in a 4-0 week for Anna Maria. The sophomore outside hitter finished with two double-doubles on the week, including a 19-kill, 13-dig performance against Becker before topping that with 23 kills and 16 digs against Daniel Webster. King's 23 kills against Daniel Webster now top the AMCAT single-match record book.

TIERNEY CLANCY – ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Clancy averaged 11.00 assists per set and set two new Anna Maria program records on the week for the AMCATS. She broke the record for assists in a three-set match against Becker, checking in with 44, before breaking the overall AMCAT single-match assists record with 46 assists two days later against Daniel Webster. The freshman setter also added 24 digs and nine service aces in Anna Maria's stellar week.

ADDITIONAL ACCOLADES

Additionally, junior outside hitter Rebecca Foti (Bedford, N.H.) and sophomore libero Carolina Garcia (Springfield, Mass.) were named to the weekly GNAC honor roll for their contributions to Anna Maria's flawless week. Foti averaged 4.69 kills per set, while Garcia led the defense with 4.69 digs per set.

WHAT'S NEXT

The AMCATS (6-5) will look to keep their streak alive on Tuesday when they travel to Regis College for a 6:00 p.m. non-conference match.
