Volleyball Tops Becker, 3-0

LEICESTER, Mass.—Freshman Amari King (Lawrence, Mass.) totaled 14 kills on a .321 hitting percentage to lead the Anna Maria College volleyball team to a 3-0 win against Becker College on Tuesday evening.

MAKING HISTORY   

With her 36 assists tonight, senior setter Samantha Parker (Athol, Mass.) has shattered her three-game sets record and has recorded the second-most assists in any match of her decorated career. Her previous three-game record of 27 assists was set last season in a 3-0 loss to Simmons, her previous second-highest overall assist performance was a 33-assist performance in a four-set match against the University of St. Joseph last season.

THE STREAK

The AMCATS now hold a 6-2 record against Becker dating back to 2005. This marks the fifth-straight win in a row for Anna Maria and the second-straight win in three sets.

OFFENSIVE LEADERBOARD

In addition to King, the AMCATS saw eight kills from senior Jessica Goulet (Lawrence, Mass.) and seven kills from sophomore Rebecca Foti (Bedford, N.H.). As a team, Anna Maria hit at an impressive .209 hitting percentage.

Parker and sophomore Kerri Earle (Bethel, Conn.) both totaled service aces; as a team, the AMCATS totaled 11 aces.

DEFENSIVE LEADERBOARD

Parker posted a team-leading 12 digs, alongside 11-dig performances from both senior Brianna LaRegina (Troy, N.H.) and freshman Carolina Garcia (Springfield, Mass.).

At the net, Goulet totaled two blocks.

BECKER STATS

Becker saw a team-high seven kills from Cheyenne Melanson. Charlene Landry dished out 11 assists, while Brittney Bullis totaled a match-high 14 digs.
