Bio

Taskin Guven enters his first season at the helm of the AMCAT women's soccer program in the fall of 2016 after coaching the AMCAT men's team for three seasons. 

As the Anna Maria men's soccer coach, the AMCATS saw increasing success under Guven's leadership. In 2014, the team won a program-best three Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matches and saw freshman midfielder Derrick Casey earn GNAC All-Conference Third Team honors.  

Guven spent six seasons coaching crosstown rival Becker College prior to coming to Anna Maria. He guided the Hawks to the conference playoffs twice in his first four seasons, winning the New England Collegiate Conference championship tournament in 2008 and earning an ECAC bid.

Guven has also worked with youth soccer in Massachusetts for many years, and is the current head coach of the Olympic development program BU17 team.

A native of Turkey, Taskin played professionally in his home country for seven years before moving to the United States in 1994. Professionally, Coach Guven has earned a United States Soccer Federation “A” License, National Soccer Coaches Association of America, Premier Diploma and a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Director of Coaching Diploma, among other accolades.

He is a member of the United Stated Soccer Federation and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
