Women's Soccer Tallies First Win Of The Season Over Pilgrims

HENNIKER, NH - On Wednesday, September 18th the Anna Maria College women's soccer team traveled north to Henniker, NH to take on the Pilgrims of New England College for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS won the game 1-0.

The AMCATS dominated the first half of the game, outshooting the Pilgrims 9-2. Despite the strong offensive presence, the Pilgrims goalkeeper Hollie Bomba would keep the game scoreless throughout the first half. It wasn't until early in the second half that the AMCATS would finally break through after Abigail Smith scored her second goal of the season off a pass from Anetta Del Prado. The AMCATS goal would mark the only goal of the evening as the Pilgrims couldn't find the equalizer. Finishing the game with a score of 1-0, the AMCATS would earn their first victory of the season.
