Women's Soccer Draws With Cadets 2-2

PAXTON, MA - On Wednesday, September 11th the Anna Maria College women's soccer team hosted the Norwich University Cadets for their second Great Northeast Athletic Conference game of the season. The AMCATS tied the game 2-2.

Despite a clear lead in shots for the Cadets, the AMCATS would be the first to strike after Olivia Val De Serra buried her first career goal with nearly fifteen minutes left to play in the first half. Continuing to battle hard, the AMCATS effort would pay off yet again as Mia Kuhl managed to head the ball in for the AMCATS second goal of the night off a pass from Ellie Dube. The AMCATS second goal came just seconds before the clock hit zero, ending the first half.

After the intermission, the Cadets would come out with some fire as Lindsey Duggan broke the ice with a goal just two minutes into the second half. The Cadets didn't let up, scoring the game tying goal just fourteen minutes later. After a hard fought second half, the AMCATS were unable to regain the lead resulting in their first tie of the season. Kortney Clark stopped ten shots in an effort to keep the Cadets from taking the lead.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:

  • Mia Kuhls late first half goal marks her first of the season.
  • Olivia Val De Serra would notch her first career goal with the AMCATS also giving them their first lead of the season.
