Women's Soccer Comes Up Short Against Falcons

PAXTON, MA. – On Saturday, September 7, 2024, the Anna Maria College Women's Soccer team traveled to Albertus Magnus for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 3-1.

The Falcons were the first on the board with a goal from Erina Ismaili off a through ball from Tyler Stocking, about thirteen minutes into the first half. It would then be the Falcons again to post another goal two minutes later coming off the foot of Sophia Vescera, to give the Falcons a 2 to 0 lead to end the half. The game would hold steady for the remainder of the first half with the AMCATS still behind the Falcons 2-0 heading into the intermission.

The AMCATS would continue to fight but it would be the Falcons who would strike again in the second half tally a goal in the 71st minute off a feed from Evie Tyrell to Sydney Cook to feed it home and find the back of the net for the Falcons. The AMCATS would continue to fight, and put the pressure on, and would pay off as it would be six minutes later, and the AMCATS would find the back of the net off the foot of Anetta DelPrado for her first goal of the season. The AMCATS would be trailing 3 to 1, to the Falcons with about half of the second half remaining. The AMCATS would continue to force pressure and develop chances, but the comeback would fall short, as the AMCATS couldn't strike again and would fall to the Falcons 3 to 1.
