Women's Lacrosse Falls to Emmanuel

- PAXTON, MASS: The Anna Maria women's lacrosse team was taken down by conference opponent Emmanuel College this evening on Caparso Field by a score of 20-3.

 THE BASICS:

- Date: 3/31/2021

- Score: Emmanuel 20, ANM 3

- Records: Emmanuel (3-0, 3-0 GNAC), Anna Maria (1-2, 1-2 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The AMCATS scored the contest's first goal within the first 30 seconds after winning the opening draw control. Ashley Rufo (Pittsfield, MA) was the beneficiary of the score when she beat the Saints goalie top shelf. However, that would be the only time Anna Maria would lead.

-  The first half closed out with a 13-2 score in Emmanuel's favor. Goal two for the AMCATS was again. Rufo, with her left hand, placed the ball perfectly over the goalie's shoulder.

-  The second half consisted of seven more goals for the Saints. Anna Maria tallied one more with 10:48 left when freshmen Raegan Hachey (Winthrop, ME) put in her sixth goal of the season.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Emily Saef led all scorers with 5 goals and 3 assists.

Ashley Rufo finished the game with 2 scores, 2 caused turnover, and 1 ground ball.
