Women's Hockey Secures First NCAA Win in Program History

PAXTON, Mass: The final score was 2-1, as the Anna Maria Women's Hockey Team was able to defeat Salve Regina in non-conference action this evening to obtain their first NCAA team victory as a program.

 

The Seahawks (2-10-1) lone goal was scored in the third period by Maggie Leonard 1:18 in, she was assisted by Michaela Simon.

 

The AMCATS (1-9) struck first in the second period when Katadin Whitney (Canton, Conn.) was able to beat Salves goaltender 3:33 into the period. Whitney had some help from Juianne Nelson (Kamloops, BC) and MacKendzie Crawford (Coral Stream, IL). Anna Maria was able to strike again in the third period 2:05 in when Juianne Nelson was able to find the back of the net to put the AMCATS up 2-1.

Gabi Ohanesian (Bozemen, MT) (W, 1-4) 1 goal allowed 42 saves.
