Women's Basketball Fights Past the Cadets
PAXTON, Mass: 58-49 was the final from the Fuller Center as the Anna Maria Women's Basketball Team defeated Norwich University in conference action to get their 5th win of the month and second straight.
Both the Cadets (7-12, 2-5 GNAC) and the AMCATS (7-14, 4-4 GNAC) had a slow start as they were only able to put up 7 points each in the first quarter.
Norwich was able to find a rhythm in the second as they outscored Anna Maria 17 to 13. Emily Oliver was the main contributor in the quarter as she hit four 3-point shots to put the Cadets up 24-20 going into the half.
Out of the locker room the AMCATS were ready to have a big second half as they outscored Norwich 38-25, with 19 points each quarter to Norwich's 12 in the third and 13 in the fourth. Amber Wilson (New York, NY) continues to produce, this time she finished with a Double-Double getting 18 points and 12 rebounds. Sierra Johnson (Brockton, Mass.) also played her role as she fell just short of her own Double-Double with 10 points and 9 rebounds.
