Women's Basketball Sierra Johnson Drops 20 in Loss the Monks

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Women's Basketball Team was defeated by conference opponent St. Josephs College this afternoon 75-62 in the Fuller Center.

 

The Monks (15-0, 5-0 GNAC) maintained a steady pace throughout the game as they worked the ball in to Emily Benway who finished with a Double-Double going 14 and 12. Benway also kicked the ball back out after pulling down all the rebounds to Kelsi McNamara who was 5-of-15 from behind the arc and 6-of-17 overall for a game high 25 points.

 

The AMCATS (5-13, 2-3 GNAC) had a slow start in the first half but were able to rebound and out score SJC in the second half 37-26. Their second half push was led by Sierra Johnson (Brockton, Mass.) who finished with 20 points overall with 12 of those points in the 3rd and 4th quarter. Amber Wilson (New York, NY) had the team high in rebounds as she came down with 5 of them along with scoring 13 points.
