Women's Basketball Drops Opener to Keene State

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Women's Basketball team was defeated by the Owls of Keene State this afternoon in non-conference action 62-48 in Keene NH.

 

The Owls (1-0) had nine people score in the contest with just two players in double digits. Samira Sangare led Keene State in scoring with 12-points, just two above Lilly Shlimon who put up 10-points, while coming off the bench. Shlimon also had the team high in rebounds, finishing the game with 7 boards.

 

The AMCATS (0-1) were led by Sienna and Sierra Johnson (Brockton, Mass.) as they were the only two players in double digits scoring. Sienna had a game high 13-points going 5-16 from the field and 2-2 from behind the three-point line. Sierra finished with 12-points in the contest, along with 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Johanna Burke (Oxford, Conn.) finished the contest with a game high 13 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4-points.
